Effective news releases harness the power of public media for distribution of your message. When your clients (or prospective clients) browse the outlets of media using your release, they will absorb your message as it is delivered from a credible third-party source.
The key, of course, is to produce releases that are clear, concise, interesting — and newsworthy.
The following news releases were distributed by The Salvation Army Escondido Corps to local media and to participants at service organization luncheons. They had an immediate positive effect. Within two days following distribution of the Thanksgiving release, more than 100 frozen turkeys were delivered to the agency. The Christmas news release prompted donations of an abundance of canned food and toys — enough to provide generous gifts for an exceptionally large number of families in need.
